Hi, everyone!

My name is Bethany Leduc, and I’m very excited to be a member of the EWC team. Editing has been my passion since 7th grade and as an intern, now a high school grad, I get to explore the ins and out of my future career.

I remember when I was a little kid, books and reading were my least favorite thing in the world. But after moving up from Marietta, GA to Saint Albans, VT, I got placed with wonderful Language Arts teachers and my passion for English formed and flourished.

Bethany and her fiance Lucas (have been together for 4 years)

My family is very important to me; if it weren’t for them, I would not be at this outstanding point in my life. We’ve been through a lot together, but we’ve somehow made it all work.

I haven’t had a “traditional” high school education, but my journey through school and life has left me in an amazing place. After trying homeschooling in 9th grade and having it fail miserably, I had many credits to make up just to graduate with my class. But after working hard and pushing myself quite a bit, I am now back on track and graduated with the 2017 class. I hope to contribute many great things to this website, and because of it, I will hopefully make it into a marvelous college that will nurture and expand my knowledge of the editing and English universe.

The Ever Widening Circles team has really helped me understand life and the way that businesses run. I’ve learned many skills and learned so much about the good going on right under our noses. We choose what we are inspired by, but how can we be inspired if the news we trust never shows us something worth being passionate about? My journey with Ever Widening Circles has not only helped me learn how to be a professional but also how to be happy again. After getting this job, my self-esteem and motivation skyrocketed. My past fear and sadness have mostly vanished. Dr. Lynda, Sam, and Liesl are truly amazing people, and I am very lucky to have gotten the chance to work alongside them.

I am a puppy mom to a 5 month old beagle-dalmatian mix named Hook (after Captain Hook from the show Once Upon a Time). My free time is spent being the Dragonborn in Skyrim, being the Sole Survivor in Fallout 4, making odd families in the Sims 4, binge watching Netflix shows until there’s no episodes left (and start ugly crying). Some of my favorite shows are Parks & Recreation, Orphan Black, Wynonna Earp, One Tree Hill, and many more. Punk, folk, acoustic, and indie are some of my favorite genres of music. My favorite books at the moment are Oblivion by Sasha Dawn, The Bodies We Wear by Jeyn Roberts, and Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. These are books that prove that even though life throws hard-balls your way, you can always pick yourself back up and create the life you’ve always hoped for.

I hope to help EWC continue being a great place to learn about the great things happening in our world.

Be understanding, be passionate, be joyous. But most of all, be yourself.
