Is the world actually getting worse, or are our minds hardwired by evolution to pay acute attention to the negative as a way of survival?

There are some good news TED Talks that present some astounding data about the future!

In fact, in the TED Talk we’re featuring today, we’ll discover some statistics that show how much better the world has really become (it’s actually very astounding). Furthermore, we’ll be introduced to a handful of the amazing innovations that have and will contribute to our well being in amazing ways.

This Ever Widening Circles article is typical of the things our community shares: people and innovations that are slipping through the mainstream cracks that deserve more recognition for their efforts and effects on our lives.

Peter Diamandis runs the X Prize Foundation, which offers large cash incentive prizes to inventors who can solve grand challenges like space flight, low-cost mobile medical diagnostics, and oil spill cleanup. Using remarkable data and insight, Diamandis’s TED Talk proves we have the tools to solve the world’s grand challenges, and then leaves us with a roadmap for the future.

Take a few minutes for this one. Allow Mr. Diamandis to help us rethink our worldview and present us with a way to put all that we hear from the news headlines into perspective. Enjoy!
