We’ve introduced you to quite a few fascinating creatures and unusual facts over the years, but this one takes camouflage tactics, hunting skills, and beauty to a whole new level!

Say hello to the Orchid Mantis!

These beautiful little creatures from the rainforests of Southeast Asia are a remarkable example of camouflage tactics at their best. Using finely honed aggressive mimicry, they are able to attract prey even better than the orchids they mimic.

Watching them in action one of the most interesting things we’ve seen on our search for great content to share with you.

So, to properly acquaint us to these tiny marvels of nature, we turn to the YouTube Channel It’s Okay To Be Smart.

Evolution really is the best designer!

Every time I learn about a new species inhabiting some remarkable little niche of the planet, I am awed by the unbelievable diversity of species around us.

These designs have been cultivated over millions of years, and they not only serve as a magnificent springboard for human innovation, but they also remind us that life on Earth is far more complex than we give it credit for. Quite literally, we can leave no stone unturned if we want to understand the complexity of life.

When it comes to the natural world, saying “it’s still an amazing world” feels wrong somehow, because, as far as the wonders nature has to offer, it has always been an amazing world. And the natural world’s “amazingness” will only continue to increase as we learn more about it.

The more we know, the more we can work with the species that also call this planet home, and the more we can learn from them.

Stay beautiful & keep laughing!
