The older I get, the more I’m conscious that very small things can make a change in the world. Tiny little things, but the world is made up of tiny matters, isn’t it. – Sandra Cisneros
At one point in your life, you’ve probably seen something carefully and lovingly embroidered. Whether that’s initials on a towel in your bathroom, a craft in your grandmother’s patient hands, or a part of one of the most recent art trends on social media.
Chances are, you took a quick glance, and like most of us, never stopped to marvel at such minute attention to detail. Why do we seem conditioned to overlook the small wonders and the importance of the little things?
Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things, I am tempted to think there are no little things. – Bruce Barton
Today on Ever Widening Circles (EWC), we will marvel at a few moments of quiet detail through the exquisite work of Chloe Giordano, whose gorgeous embroideries celebrate the natural world in a way that might bring us all down to earth.
Her “needle paintings” have our team in awe. Let’s take a look at the process of this Oxford artist in this short video from AdamPellinDeeve!
Chloe Giordano is another extraordinary artist who points us towards the beauty that can come out of doing what you love! She’s made this art form her very own. There is a world of possibilities out there, especially if we are open to the importance of mastering something small in our efforts to find what we’re passionate about.
Though it may take you quite some time to be at the same level of mastery as Chloe here, don’t let that discourage you! Embroidery in its basics can be fairly easy to learn! It doesn’t require a lot of money to create, and most find the slow pace and the attention to detail to be stress relieving! Who doesn’t need a little more of that in their life?
Sublime Stitching has some great quick tutorials if you’re interested in checking out this craft, who knows, maybe this could be your next hobby!
Whatever your passions, remember that the small things have the power to make us think with clarity about the big things. – Dr. Lynda (our founder at Ever Widening Circles)
Keep yourself open to new possibilities, and happiness will stay nearby!
