This planet is filled with remarkable creatures, and the octopus is, by far, one of its most interesting and unique.

From head to tentacle, octopi have one remarkable twist of intelligence or another to learn about.

The most distinctive feature of an octopus is its tentacles, and while we are probably all familiar with them in theory, tentacles are actually far more incredible appendages than would initially meet the eye. Sure, you know that they give an octopus mobility, but did you also know they are used to taste and smell?

To introduce us to these marvels of nature, we turn to a great YouTube channel, Deep Look.

You probably didn’t think you would come away with an expanded knowledge of octopus tentacles today, did you? Yet, here we all are, a little more knowledgeable about the world around us!

For some, learning about the workings of an octopus’ tentacles is just a fun fact, and I hope that for others it has sparked some further curiosity. Maybe even a little creativity!

Our goal at EWC (Ever Widening Circles), is to prove every day to our readers that it’s still an amazing world! And certainly, a part of that is simply knowing how amazing the world around us is and always has been. I am constantly amazed at how much brighter the world seems when I know more about it and can point other people to places where they can learn more too!

Changing the negative dialogue about our world isn’t that daunting a task, but in order to do so, we need other things to talk about. Things that inspire a sense of wonder, awe, and possibility. The more we are all informed about our world from how an octopus’ tentacle works to the major political events of the day the more we can engage with the world in an educated way and forge a better path forward.

Stay beautiful & keep laughing!
