Why do some things bring us universal joy?

After spending the past year and a half diving deep into the corners of YouTube and staying on top of the latest trends (as best I can), I’ve witnessed a few movements that I think prove it’s still an amazing world.

One of my favorite memes, which seems to strike a chord in people no matter their age, culture, or gender, are videos of people dancing, particularly people dancing with strangers.

Lately, I’ve been noticing a video flying around Facebook that seems to be taking off. It starts off simple enough, a twenty-something-year-old guy dancing in his bedroom, but as the video progresses something magical happens. So here it is, the incredible video from a channel we only just found but already love: ProjectOneLife.

Just take a watch, and you’ll see what I mean…

Proving the World is Amazing!

So, what kind of person takes the time to film something this incredible?

The video’s creator is named Matt Bray, and he has a great YouTube channel called ProjectOneLife where he shares his experiences checking things off his bucket list.

In his words:

“… this channel is about living life to the fullest and having fun. I document myself having a blast with my friends crossing things off my bucket list.” 2

This particular video is the third in a trilogy of video’s he has made over the years. First, 100 Days of Dance, followed by 100 Places of Dance, and finally this one, 100 People of Dance.

So, why 100 People of Dance?

“The only way I could top 100 places of dance was to bring in friends, family, and strangers. Filming this video was one of the craziest experiences I have ever had in my life.” 3

100 People of Dance took 2 months to film, and over 10,000 miles of driving through the US and Canada. And the end result, I think, is something that speaks to the connection we can share over joy, fun, and out of the box experiences.

Sometimes it’s just good to know that the world can come together and find happiness for just a few minutes while watching the same video.

Whether we connect through dance, storytelling, photography, or the art of conversation, we can celebrate the fact that there are wonderful things out there that can strike a chord in almost everybody.

We try to curate those here at EverWideningCircles.com (EWC), and so Matt, if you see this, thank you for helping us prove it’s still an amazing world with your work!

Stay beautiful & keep laughing!
