Have you ever had the pleasure of witnessing a “proto-genius” at the very beginning of his extraordinary trajectory!? Well, today you will!

I’m not sure I have ever smiled so much while listening to a 13-year-old boy speak. Meet Max Loughan, wearing google glasses and telling us how he’s going to change the world!

Max is a remarkable young teen who may lead us to the next generation of renewable energy, starting from a make-shift lab in the corner of his parents’ basement boiler room?

Now here’s a kid who definitely has the energy and brainpower to make the world a better place!

Let’s let Max we’ll break a few darkened windows and shed some new light on many topics:

Goodness! That’s a whole lot to think about all at once:

  • The power of kids ignoring barriers
  • The power of youth looking at things with completely fresh eyes
  • The power of a great public speaker
  • The power of giving youth a path to follow their passions and curiosity.
  • The power of supporting a kid who does not fit in

Now I was all fired-up!

Then, I decided to check this whole thing out more carefully.

Is the Energy Harvester too good to be true?

There’s no doubt this wonderful kid has charisma, but the actual science part got me curious.

So, I did some research on the science he is proposing and was surprised to find almost nothing in the way of dissenting voices. Usually, when something gets as big as Max’s talk, there is no end to the opinions of nay-sayers to be found on the web.

I did find a few on-line chat places where people were ridiculing Max’s science, but then they strayed into enthusiastic dialogues about the Aliens and UFO’s that visit our planet, and I decided these chats were not hard science either.

Bottom Line: No matter the promises of Max’s ideas, Max is sure putting his self-proclaimed “science geek” status out there, in full regalia, and teaching us to celebrate the kids who usually get chastised for being different.

His enthusiasm comes right through our screens and we may realize that inspiring, science-minded youth of today will eventually inherit – and hopefully save – the world.

His observations about future sources of renewable energy may not be the next big thing, but the passion for possibility he has will, no doubt, be what leads us all down some new roads we can not imaging, yet!

Stay open, curious, and optimistic.
