How good are you at making excellent Snap Judgments? Are Snap Judgments ever good? Let’s explore that question through the lens of being thankful.
Today we point you to a place on the web that will almost always leave you thinking because the project reminds us that every situation can be viewed through multiple lenses. The mental gymnastics this piece inspires is like a refreshing exercise for the mind and the heart.
Have you heard of the podcast called Snap Judgment? The host and producer, Glynn Washington puts together a show each week with a theme that is often strange and wonderful. Remarkable storytellers recount true stories that are as compelling as they are insightful.
Just as in all of life, some stories are a little hard to hear, but all of Glynn’s work on the podcast will leave you transformed in some way.
I love to listen to podcasts now whenever I’m driving and especially when doing something a little mindless like cleaning the house, gardening, or cooking. As a matter of fact, I listened to the one we are sharing with you, while making my Thanksgiving pies last night! We highly recommend it.
See what you think.
As we are thinking a lot about gratitude this time of year, so here’s Snap Judgment on being thankful.
Let’s take a listen to some thought-provoking tales.
Now that one opens up a whole can of worms! Strange and wonderful, huh?
It made me remember a quote from an article we did about one of the greatest thought-leaders in the world on gratitude, Brother David Steindl-Rast. He says,
“It is better to be grateful than happy. Happiness is dependent upon the situation, but in almost every moment, we can find something to be grateful for.” – Brother David Steindl-Rast
Hope you have some time to enjoy this podcast and some of the others that we have pointed the Ever Widening Circles community to. We have a fabulous article as an introduction to a podcast called The TED Radio Hour. Check it out!
Another podcast we love is called 99% Invisible, and we wrote a fascinating article featuring one of their episodes called. Give it a listen below!
Here at Ever Widening Circles, we are changing the negative dialogue about the future.
To accomplish that, we write one carefully fact-checked article every other day to demonstrate this is still an amazing world. All our pieces are featuring current innovations that are lost in the chaos of our mass media.
Stay open, curious and hopeful!
