“Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.”
Rumi

No matter your tastes or your generation, this EWC video-share is likely to bring a smile, just from the sheer creative care it took to find, mix, label and so perfectly time all of these clips of the best dancers from movie history:

Some would argue that the best days of dance have come and gone. Perhaps this video can remind us of the beauty we can find in new forms that have a basis in the old.

Even if you’ve seen another version of this, don’t miss this one. I’ve been a bit of an old movie/musical geek for years, so take it from me, these moves are the best of the best, and perfectly suited to specific parts of the song.  It’s a truly awesome video from Nerd Fest UK. Hope this puts a little kick in your step!

First, what a joyful project! Secondly, can you believe the women who are dancing in dresses and heels?

Finally, here’s one of my favorite quotes about one of the great dance teams seen in the video:

“After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.”
Ann Richards

Thanks for stopping by EWC today. Some days, we will bring you insight, some days, wonder, and on some days, like today, we’ll just have some fun!

No matter what the 24-hour news cycle tells us, keep in mind that it is still an amazing world (our motto).

“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

Stay open, curious and hopeful!
