Do you struggle with your moods? Or better yet, do others struggle with your moods?
Here’s something we laugh about in my family. Have you ever heard the following expression? (Say it with a southern Mississippi accent) :
“If mamma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” – Sandra Dodd
I suspect my family would corroborate that statement with sheepish smiles. How about yours?
The video we are sharing today seems intuitive after you watch it, but frankly, I just never put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
It turns out there is such a thing as a drug-free anti-depression alternative.
Best of all, it is not flaky internet advice. It’s good, hard science, as the TED Talk we share with you today will demonstrate.
Let’s see if any of the following suggestions resonate with anyone, and even if you are naturally a jolly sort, please share this with someone you care about who can’t get out of their own way some times.
Take a look at Steve Ilardi’s lifehack suggestion…
Fabulous science and logic there.
Here’s a key point to consider: Depression can have little to do with life circumstances at its origins. It’s brain chemistry. Period.
There are people who would appear to be the luckiest folks on the planet, who suffer with the burden of depression, and there are others, with enormous life struggles, who are resilient and happy despite their situations.
The World Health Organization says that 350 million people around the world live with depression. Apparently, it’s the leading cause of disability worldwide and they also point out that this disability can create havoc for entire families.
If you or someone you know tends to be depressive, pass this talk on.
Now, I gotta go for my walk — really! — it’s 5:56 am, and if I get out there for a half hour, I’ll feel like a whole new woman all day!
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay open, curious and hopeful!
